Evolution: The New Technocrat Fad

Good afternoon, our darling listeners!

The Technocrats have decided to prove Darwin's ever-so-controversial theory by evolving the show. So, from this point, only two guests will grace their presence on the show. All for your listening pleasure!

We have also decided to insert a new segment into the show. Let the Great Debates of 2008 begin! Which animals are better, cats or dogs? Who would win in a duel between Dumbledore or Gandalf? Is shaking your tailfeather any cooler than shaking it like a polaroid picture? Tune in and find out!

In the meantime, enjoy your spring break and don't miss us too much. With love,

~ The Technocrats ~

The Big Fat Hulu Test

Hey gang! It's been a while since we last posted, and a lot has happened out on the Internets. After not renewing their contract with Apple, NBC and Fox decided to test and develop a new service to allow viewers to get television content on their computers without having to pay. The result is Hulu, a free, ad-supported website with many options. The site has SNL clips, and full episodes of shows like Arrested Development. There are also select feature length films like Requiem For A Dream that you can all watch for free with limited commercial interruption. Television shows have three to four 15-second ads, and movies can either be watched with the ads, or with a movie trailer before the feature starts. The site isn't perfect yet, and more content will be added (signing up for an account allows you to subscribe to shows so you know when the new episodes are uploaded). The best part, you can embed videos in your blog! Go check it out!

G'day listeners!

We have added a new poll so that the viewers can weigh in on our topics and let us know how they feel. So now, tell us what you think about the lolcat phrase "hai." How in the world is it pronounced?! The polls will close and on our Leap Year Show, you will get to find out the official results.

Stay tuned for more info on the Technocrats.

Open ID and Commenting!

Hey all!

Sorry for the delay in postings. It's been a hectic time here with the end of the semester, but expect more updates soon. We do have some interesting news though; since Blogger is now supporting OpenID, users from AIM, LiveJournal and other services will be able to comment on our blog by signing in with their information. Snazzy, eh? Podcast will be updated soon with the 3 Hour Show, and the Minimalist Show (featuring just Ben and I).

Rock on.

Quick Update

Just a quick update for all of you blog-readers out there. We got hosting thanks to my roommate, so now we will be able to have a real website, and we will be able to post the podcast right here in the blog using the flash player protocol. Soon you will see something with a play button; when clicked the player will expand and the track progress will be shown. Stay tuned for that coming soon.

Podcast Working

Hey All!

We just got the ability to put our shows up on podcast after finding the WMFO Show Archiver. You can go to the archive to listen to any show that you want, including ours. The podcast URL is http://podcasts.uit.tufts.edu/rss/177/177.rss and by clicking on it, you will be able to subscribe and get the latest episodes delivered to you however you'd like. Also, we just submitted our podcast to Apple for review, so soon we will be able to invade your iPods.

Every week we will post the episode right here for you to listen to. Let us know what you think by leaving comments or dropping us a line at wmfotechnocrats@gmail.com.
